The Plot of The Padaiyappa Movie
The movie revolves around Padaiyappa, a mechanical engineer who returns to his village after working in Madras for three years. He falls in love with Vasundhara, a timid and good-natured house maid who works for Neelambari, the daughter of his maternal uncle. Neelambari, however, is madly in love with Padaiyappa and tries to woo him with her wealth and beauty.
Things take a turn when Padaiyappa's father dies of shock after giving away his entire property to his foster brother, Mani, who demands a share in the family wealth. Padaiyappa and his family move to a vacant land on the outskirts of the village and start a new life. Padaiyappa vows to restore his father's honour and reputation by working hard and becoming successful.
Neelambari, on the other hand, becomes obsessed with Padaiyappa and plots to ruin his happiness. She hires goons to kill him, tries to separate him from Vasundhara, and even attempts to marry him by force.
