hi just a quick question, i'm trying to get my usb to serial cable to work with my macbook pro (macbook air 2010) and i'm following the instructions at www.dtechusa.com/support/articles/usb-serial-adapters/ i have gotten to the point where i know its detecting the device, but when i try to make the connection the terminal tells me it can't find /dev/cu.usbmodem1441 and /dev/cu.usbserial in the listing. i'm running mac os x 10.7.5 and my usb serial cable is a cables 2 go usb2serial cable. any suggestions
i just upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.7.2 on a macbook pro with an external usb-serial cable. i was getting a message that /dev/cu.usbmodem1441 was not a valid serial device. in 10.2 it worked. then i updated to 10.3 and it stopped working. the only way i can get it to work is to plug in the cable to the macbook's serial port. if i plug the cable into the usb port it doesn't work. i've tried looking at the logs but they are all blank. i don't see anything in the logs that would indicate why the cable isn't working. anyone know why the cable is not working
how do i get the dtechusbserial driver to work i have tried to install the driver from the cd (both from the cd and from downloading the latest driver from the dtechusbserial website), but it doesn't recognize the device. i've tried uninstalling the driver, rebooting, and reinstalling. i have tried three different cables, and none of them seem to work. i'm using a macbookpro2,1 with mac os x 10.5.8.
